Free Online Kitchen Plan Designers

Did you know that you don't have to get your new kitchen designed professionally or buy one of those programs to do it on your computer? There are many free tools online that will allow you to plan your kitchen without having to pay a dime for it!

To design your kitchen online, first you want to take careful measurements of your kitchen, including the precise measurements of where "unmoveable" appliances are (such as a dishwasher or stove). Also note any other items that are specific, such as vaccuum duct or doorway.

Once you have your measurements, you can start playing around online. Our favorite kitchen planner is - believe it or not - IKEA. You can even save it online to IKEA's servers so your salesperson can access it to use for ordering any items from IKEA. They also have some great tutorials online (don't miss their bedroom planner and office planner tutorials as well).

You can get the planner here. Do be aware it will require you to download the IKEA planner, but it is PC only at this time.

Your local building center that caters to "do it yourselfers" may also have online planners, to go along with their kitchen cabinet and countertop sales.

Also, don't forget to read our handy guide of things to consider when planning a kitchen remodel.
