Bookstore discounts for homeschoolers

Did you realize that many bookstores offer discounts to homeschoolers when buying books for homeschooling? While most to not advertise the fact, many have discount or incentive programs just for homeschooling parents.

You will need to check on the requirements for each bookstore, as you will need to show proof that you are an educator (teacher ID or state proof of homeschooling status), as this is the same discount given to teachers.

Barnes & Nobleb and Borders will offer homeschoolers a 20% discount. Other stores will offer discounts and some online shops will offer free shipping to homeschoolers as well. Some work on an incentive basis (such as gift certificates for every $X spent). So it also pays to shop around when you are looking for specific curriculums to buy to see which store will be the best price for you.

Do keep in mind that the discount will only apply to materials they deem to be for homeschooling, so you won't be able to get a discount on your romance novel!
