Mexi Chili Soup Mix in a Jar - Make Your Own Mixes

1/2 cup dried red kidney beans
1/2 cup dried navy beans
1/2 cup dried black beans
1/3 cup dried minced onions
2 to 3 tablespoons chili powder
2 tablespoons dried cilantro or parsley flakes
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dried minced garlic

Layer in jar in above order, pressing down after each layer. Close jar.

Instructions for gift giving:

In a deep skillet or pot, brown 2 pounds ground beef; drain. Add 6 cups of water and ingredients from the jar. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1-1/2 to 2 hours, or until beans are tender.

Add 3 (15oz) cans tomato juice. Bring to a boil then reduce heat, cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
