Why you should park in the shade

Did you know that during the hot summer months, you can actually lose fuel in your gas tank because of evaporation? And not only that, when you return to your vehicle you will use more gas to get the vehicle's interior temperature down to a comfortable temperature? Because of these reasons you should always try to park in the shade rather than in the open sun.

Surprisingly, you do lose gas from your gas tank on hot sunny days, even when your gas cap is on securely.

If you cannot park in the shade, you can use reflective sun shades on your front windshield which will reduce the amount of heat your car's interior absorbs.
